Plaintiff Joseph Nobile is the author and copyright owner of a screenplay entitled The Rootcutter, subsequently re-titled A Tale of Two Humans. Plaintiff claims the novel and the motion picture The Light Between Oceans knowingly and willfully copied, plagiarized, pirated and misappropriated expressive content from Nobile’s Screenplay.
