Alcon Entertainment LLC v. Automobiles Peugeot SA
Alcon Entertainment entered into a product placement agreement with the car manufacturer Peugeot. As long as Alcon delivered quality product placement shots in Blade Runner 2049, Peugeot was to pay Alcon $500,000 and then commit at least $30 million for advertising tie-ins for the movie. Peugeot never initiated the $30 million ad campaign and Alcon claims that the disappointing box office performance of Blade Runner 2049 was negatively impacted by that large sum of money which was not used to support the film.
